  1. Please feel free to call and talk about your photo shoot in advance of the session, it's good to have an idea of what your perfect picture is.  Not to mention that pictures are best when your photographer is your friend.

  2. Think ahead, what poses have you seen that you really like?  If you have a picture or a magazine clipping you should bring it.  My favorite photo shoots are with people who have a couple great ideas!
  3. Pick your clothes changes based on the mood you are trying to set for your pictures, as well as your favorite, and most comfortable outfits.
  4. If you are a girl, than don't forget to bring your emergency make up.
  5. Glitter may look good in real life, but it is not as flattering on camera.

  6. If your a man and you want to start with an unshaven look, try binging your shaving supplies for a style change midway.
  7. SLEEP!  The night before is the most important part of the photo shoot.
  8. Women: Make sure that your undergarment does not show through your shirt.
  9. Clothes should compliment you, not complete you.  Avoid busy patterns and stiff fabrics.  Remember the prettier you feel (or handsome) the better the picture!
  10. Jewelry and hair ornaments need to be really simple, unless your going for a character shot.  Hey, 80's pictures are rad!
  11. Both men and women should take care of their nails.
  12. Avoid fatty, greasy, salty foods as well as alcohol or anything that will make you feel puffy or bloated.
  13. Hair changes take a long time.  Consider having one hair style for the entire shoot.

  14. Expect the unexpected.  You never know what could happen, and that is a good thing, some of the best shots come from being open and flexible when things don't go according to plan!

  15. Be happy!  If your in good spirits, your pictures will show it!

 Tips For Senior Pictures

  1. Get in to it -

The best way to great pictures is the model's (student's) attitude. If you're excited, it shows up on every shot. I've had really beautiful models that thought their looks would make great pictures, that usually doesn't work.

  2. Be Yourself -

While the photographer will help with posing, don't be afraid to try something different. Not every picture needs to be a big smile, they should reflect several aspects of you.

When asked to sit for a pose, sit naturally, the same as you would anywhere else.

Make yourself comfortable and it's OK to move around.

  3. Clothing & Outfits -

Worn-out blue jeans are very popular. They look great outdoors and are comfortable for the model.

Clothing: Bring your favorite skirt, pants and several tops. Solid colors usually work best. Earthy colors (brown, green) look really good outside.

Leather jackets can be worn or thrown across your shoulder for a more casual look.

  4. Be Different -

If you use the same photographer that everyone else does, you'll probably have similar pictures. Try finding a photographer that will compliment your tastes.

Be sure that your photographer will spend enough time with you to get the great portraits you deserve. Try looking for something better.

  5. Jewelry & Accesories -

Earrings, necklaces, bracelets , hats and other clothing accessories are great to have along.

They can be mixed with every outfit, giving some really unique pictures.

Dont' forget to bring your school jacket, sports items  and or Instrument along.

  6. Have Fun -

Hopefully you'll get a chance to use some of your own ideas during your senior photo session. Ask, don't be afraid to make suggestions.

You can also make a small scrapbook of pictures you like and try to have your photographer re-create it.
